Paw: Quail Killer!

Okay, so once I went to dinner with my grand father, Paw, and I ordered Quail. And... it turned out to be around $500... so since then it has been the Christmas tradition to exchange quail themed gifts. 2012 he got me pickled quail eggs and I drew him this:

This last Christmas He gave me a quail chew toy.

I drew this.

Here are some Thumbnail sketches working out the idea.

I only gave Paw the framed inked line art, but I had scanned it before hand so I colored it in photoshop. I really enjoyed it!

Final Drawing in Sketchbook #2

I just filled up my second travel sketchbook with my three pens that I started working with at the Chick-fil-A I work at.

Im actually too busy today to start my next sketchbook, but also I cant find this same brand. its a Pentalic, but I looked at the website and they don't seem to make this style any more so Ill be making the switch to moleskins. however I really want to use microns in a moleskin... Oh look at me complaining about paper... oh well here is what you came here for... a sketch.

These are the three pens I exclusively use in my travel sketchbooks, they are "PILOT EasyTouch MED" big thumbs up from me.

Making Monsters

First off... Happy New Year!

Most people have a negative connotation attached with the word monster... I however have a creative connotation! This year I have asked several people to describe monsters/aliens, both friendly and scary, and I have gotten some really fun results!

First let me share the process.

It was interesting to see that some people immediately told me their monster like they were looking at it that instant, while others I actually had to ask them the 7 steps to get them to their creation. A few people even named their monsters.

2013 Sketchbook DUMP

I have grown so much this year as an artist!

I started working on a Graphic Novel, coming 2014
I finished Animation Mentor's Online School

The Joker (I didn't have a green pen, in fact! if you noticed I only use these three colors, yes black isn't a color its a value just get over it... anyways yes I use these three pens exclusively in this sketchbook. They are ballpoint but somehow you can make a light or dark line with them, very wide range utensils, wow I'm monologging...)
